UMVA FLAT FILE
The UMVA Flat File is a non-juried opportunity for artists locally and worldwide to showcase their work--to help artists gain greater exposure to the public and to one another. Many, many more artists than might fit within a gallery's space can be accessible within the space of a flat file cabinet. A computer located near the artwork aids in searching while conservation gloves help protect artwork being handled by the public. The UMVA Flat File, administrated by Kenny Cole, is located in Belfast, Maine's Anderson Building (owned by the Art Center at Kingdom Falls) and is open to the public Friday evenings from 5-7pm, or by chance or appointment (call 322-5243 for an appointment).Artists can submit up to 9 pieces of flat (unframed) artwork to the UMVA Flat File. If an artwork is sold from the UMVA Flat File, the artist will receive 50% of the sales price specified on the artist's consignment form (see below) while the other 50% is paid to the Art Center at Kingdom Falls.
Drop off or mail artwork with a consignment form (download). If you are unable to download the form, contact Kenny Cole at fanmail@kennycole.com to request the form.
