My work is derived from digitally-manipulated photographs which I work through up to six different computer software programs until I get the effect I am looking for. I then print out the work on 11"x14" sheets of unruyu rice paper using archival inks. The sheets are then impregnated with clear acrylic adhesives and attached to canvas stretched on a custom-made support. I then use many layers of oil glazes to enhance and bring out the colors. My work tends to be large, 3 or 4 feet or more on a side. I have always been fascinated by happenstance, and love to find the unexpected while working with the ordinary, which is why flipping a piece between a number of computer programs to get a desired or unexpected result is satisfying to me.
