In my current work, instead of a traditional approach to portraiture, I have taken shirts and ties out of their normal context and made them the subject matter. As portraits they have a psychological undertone and deal with issues of personal image and acquired identity. On another level, they are also "pretty" and make reference to my love of decorative, abstract, and pop art.
