"My Favorite Room"--Phippsburg, pastel, 13"x17" The essence for my work comes from my fascination with the enigmatic and intangible nature of perception and its connection to color and texture. I use elements such as hue intensity, temperature and tone value to express my feelings about the subject chosen for each painting. Few mediums allow one to be as adventurous and spontaneous as pastels, but the greatest advantage for me is the immediacy and freedom of expression that comes from working with pure brilliant color.
