Plaid #04, hot glue & crayons on canvas, 24"x20", 2003

John A. Girouard

John A. Girouard's art embodies an extensive study in the marriage of hot glue and crayons. This patented, innovative, multi-functional medium is used as paint on canvases and other receptive surfaces. In essence the paintbrush is a glue gun and the paint is a blend of molten glue and crayons heated to extreme temperatures. Girouard's work has been shown in numerous galleries throughout the United States including exhibitions in NYC and Chicago. In 2005, his work received an honorable mention from James Rondeau, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Art Institute of Chicago. Girouard is a self-taught artist who was born in Lewiston, Maine and now resides in Ossipee, New Hampshire and Eustis, Maine.
