My aesthetic sensibility reaches back to my formal training as a painter, to the New York School of the 40's and 50's, to abstract expressionism, automatic painting, minimalism, and field painting.
Process is, for me, a pathway to the self, a dance between chance and intent, a way to see beyond definitions. It is the mobius-umbilicus, connecting the inside with the outside, sampling and comparing the known with the unknown.
Vendetti teaches drawing and animation and helps produce The Maine Masters Project, a series of video interviews with some of the state's most important and least known visual artists.
