Colin S. Feeney Imprisonment of Time, computer-generated 3D Art, 2008

Colin Feeney is a Maine 3D Digital Artist and Animator, and a Fine Arts illustrator and oil and acrylics painter. His signature style tends towards the surreal, with every opportunity given to taking creations in unique and varied directions, oftentimes imparting a narrative sense within the visual aspects. The ethereal quality of the subject matter spans a broad range, from fantasy realms that impart a mystique about otherworldly places to the visual impact of light-hearted, cartoonish character scenes, or to the photo-realistic quality of computer-generated 3D models and visualizations. In the computer-generated animations, the musical compositions and sound F/X contribute to making the illusions come to life.   The image, “Imprisonment of Time,” invokes a mystical quality and tension. Within the natural unrestrained energy of coalescing angry clouds, and the artificial interconnected clock with tubes radiating to, and from, unpredictable directions, there exists a precarious boundary between reality, eternity, and the unknown. Implied within the visual metaphors is the existence of an eternal continuum and a tumultuous instability as time marches back and forth.
