I paint abstract oils and oil sticks, and I draw the figure. The focus of my abstract work is the tension that comes from trying to maintain a contained, true self within a space that is always kinetic, always changing and pushing for change. The paintings are about how a balance is achieved between one individual form and this space, or between a pair or group of forms and this space.
