I am interested in the dynamic vibration created when human activity and nature intersect. I think of this intersection as "the garden" in the most expansive sense. I am excited by the contradiction between formal ideas and tendencies of disorder in nature and am drawn to the concept of a reassembled landscape where meaning is re-formed.

Avy Claire is an artist who divides her time between studios in Blue Hill and New York City. Her exhibit history extends throughout Maine as well as Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, Boston, and most recently, San Francisco.
